Board of Governors

University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills is governed by seven appointed members, each representing one of the seven local First Nations Communities, plus one Elder from the Saddle Lake First Nation. The seven First Nations communities that own and operate University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills, representing approximately 18,836 people include:

  • Leonard Jackson, Beaver Lake Cree Nation
  • Tom Piche, Cold Lake First Nations
  • Dallas Waskahat, Frog Lake First Nation
  • Garrett Monias, Heart Lake First Nation
  • Kevin Amahoose, Kehewin Cree Nation
  • Georgette Memnook, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128
  • Kevin Delver, Chairperson, Saddle Lake Cree Nation
  • Ken Kakeesim, Saddle Lake Cree Nation

Message From the Board of Governors

The members of the Board of Governors at University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills would like to extend a warm welcome to all the students. This handbook contains a number of programs that have been developed to address the needs of our communities. These programs will help each of you to achieve your career goals.

By coming to Blue Quills, you are making a commitment to your future. We want to encourage you to take advantage of all the University offers in terms of academic programming, cultural programming, student service support, and counseling support. We are all committed to helping you to be successful as we know there is a great need for trained people to work and become the leaders in our communities.

As the University is your University, feel free to express any ideas or concerns you may have. If you need extra support, our support services team members are always happy to provide assistance.
