Teacher Assistant Program
~ Blue Quills ~

Admission Requirements <> Courses Required

The Teacher Assistant Program will be offered subject to interest and enrollment.
Application Deadline: July 1st of Each Year

The part-time Teacher Assistant Program is designed for anyone considering a career as a Teacher Assistant, for those already working in the Teacher Assistant field but wanting to improve their skills, for those considering home study for their children, or for those simply wanting to acquire new skills to better interact with their children.

The Blue Quills Teacher Assistant program, offered in partnership with our communities, is offered one day per week and prepares students for the many responsibilities they might be required to assume within educational settings. Experiential classes, lectures and on-site assignments help students acquire an understanding of child development and psychology, educational curricula, specific education techniques and strategies, and the role of the Teacher Assistant as a team member in a variety of education settings.

Depending on enrolment, the program can be offered in your community on a full-time or part-time basis. Taking into account the needs of individual students and communities, the courses will be adapted to fit their needs. Different communities have different needs and this program is designed to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the community, the students, and their families.

Students are encouraged to take all courses or just the ones that are of interest. All courses are 3-credits and are 45 course hours in length. Successful completion of all 16 courses will reward you with a Teacher Assistant Certificate.
