The Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) Degree Program provides a framework of individualized study within an Applied Studies or Arts and Sciences designation that gives great freedom to choose courses which meet career or education goals. This three year B.G.S. Degree allows students to complete the degree at Blue Quills. The degree will be awarded from Athabasca University.
The 90-credit B.G.S. Degree may lead to second degrees in faculties such as education and social work. This program allows maximum freedom to develop intellectual and academic interests.

A total of 90 credits is required. Minimum credits required within the total 90 include:
45 credits in area of designation
30 credits in senior-level courses in area of designation
45 credits total in senior-level courses
6 credits in Humanities
6 credits in Social Science
6 credits in Science
Students in the B.G.S. Degree Program must choose either an Applied Studies or an Arts and Sciences designation. This designation will determine the courses completed.
All new students starting in the B.G.S. Program may start as a cohort group. This means the new group of students will be taking the same courses. (List of courses to be offered for the new intake will be posted). This program will now be offered on a full-time basis.
Candidates are required to satisfactorily complete the Skills Appraisal Test.
