In 2001 Blue Quills commemorated
30 years of "Indian Control of Indian Education."
Control that began with the peaceful takeover and occupation of the facility in
1970 by the people of the region. And culminated with the establishment of the
Blue Quills Native Education Council who subsequently took over operation and
management of the facility January 1, 1971.
As part of the 30th Anniversary Commemoration Blue Quills published a small book that provides historical background, what's happening now & a glance at the future
